Un Sabado Gigante in Engineering

NOTES:
Co-hosted by multiple Hispanic organizations in Austin, Un Sabado Gigante in Engineering (USGE) is a one-day program on November 14, 2009 designed to inspire 500 plus middle school students about engineering and science. The program is open to all middle school students with a priority on Hispanic students. The focus of the program is to expose and inspire students to the opportunities in Engineering and Science. There will also be a simultaneous program for parents to provide enlightenment on the advantages of a college education. The Albritton Bell Tower is 138 feet tall and contains 49 carillon bells that were cast in France. The bells ring every quarter hour and are programmed to play seasonal music or the "Spirit of Aggieland" after home football game victories.
