Q. What does it mean to be a TAMHN member?
A. Any former student of the University with an ethnic identification with the Hispanic community or any person interested in being associated with the Network to assist in achieving their goals (see by laws), or any family or friend of the aforementioned. Members support and are dedicated to the overall mission of the Network (see article 2 “purpose” on page 1 of the by laws).

Q: Why do I also need to be a member of the Association?
A: Our network was established in part to support the University’s goals of achieving increased representation of minorities, and therefore are working in partnership with the University and the Association to achieve its goals. This also demonstrates our commitment to the University as former students. Membership with the Association also grants the Network certain privileges and rights.

Q: What are some of the activities the Network undertakes.
A: Fone-a-Fish
Hosting visits for President Gates
Recruiting and retention activities
University relations activities (working closely with Pres. Gates and staff to promote mission and goals)

Q: Who can join? Do I need to be Hispanic or a former student?
A: Anyone who supports the mission of the network. You do not have to be Hispanic or a former student, but do have to join the Association and support diversity initiatives for the University.
