PSC updates: a. TAMU Admissions Office has completed with the applications review process and within the next weeks will notify perspective students of the results, b. The "Aggie Tailgate Event" planned for April at Aggie Park has been cancelled. The PSC has decided to host/sponsor 4 or 5 high school specific dinners in resturants in the respective communities. All Seniors that have not committed to attend TAMU will be invited. I will need volunteers to attend these dinners. More to follow, f. The final Campus trip will be on April 17th. This concides with "Parent's Week".
More information at a later date.
SCOLA: will be held at TAMU April 9/10. Jose Ventura and Francisco Maldonado plan to attend.
TAMHN-SA Region "Get-Together" social: Please reserve April 16th, 6pm to attend our Social. We will hold it at The Paloma del Norte. This will be the day after Tax day, so what a great time to come together and Celebrate! We will send out invitations last week of March but please block this day on your calendar.
Francisco reminded us to block September 24-25th to attend the Annual TAMHN Summit. This year we will meet in Houston. TAMU President Loftin is now scheduled to speak. The group recommended to Francisco that the Network consider inviting Governor Rick Perry. Since Governor Rick Perry, is an Aggie and again seeks to be re-elected, it will be a great opportunity to hear his views/opinion on the status of Texas education and particularily the 10% law. Jose recommended that the Network also extend an invitation to ex-Mayor Bill White, Democrat candidate for Governor. The group brought up that Mayor White was not an Aggie but Jose commented that we needed to also hear his views/opinion on the 10% law. The TAMHN-SA Region Chair made a committment for at least 40 of it's members to attend the Summit in September. We need everyone's support if we want to send a strong signal to the TAMU and State leaderships. More to follow.
April Meeting: Mark your calendars for April 2d (Good Friday), 7am at the PSC.
