SAN ANTONIO REGION MEETING NOTES, AUGUST 3, 2007
The meeting was attended by 3- PSC personnel and 5- TAMHN members..
August 18, 2007, 530pm - The San Antonio A&M Club
Foundation will host our Annual Major Fundraiser at
Aggie Park. The $100.00 Donation gets you a steak
dinner for TWO and $1000.00 worth of Casino chips for
use at the Casino Night immediately afterwards.
Donations go to the Scholarship program. Many of our
area Hispanic students have received scholarships
through the program. We ask all Team Members to
consider being part of the night's activities. For
tickets contact Kevi Monk at 688-9461. Also, the
TAMHN-S.A. Region will purchase 10 tickets. I will
send an email tomorrow to annouce who in our Team will
receive them.
August 19, 2007, 2-6pm- Jesse and Gladys Garza
will host our second 'Get-Together'. We hope to see
many more of there, for friendship, great food, and a
fun time. Later, you will receive directions to their
home.
August 19, 2007, is "Move-In" Day for all Freshmen
Aggies and PSC personnel will be busy working with
them.
August 21, 2007, at College Station, PSC sponsors
pizza party at Gatti-Town. This is an opportunity for
all San Antonio Aggies to come together and meet. PSC
asks if any of us plan to be at A&M that day to drop
by and join the fun.
The PSC in coordination with TAMU will attempt to
establish a list of incoming 'fish' from our region,
who have given the ok for their contact phone
number/email address be provided to us. We will then
break out the list, perhaps by high school, and ask
you to volunteer and make contact with 'fish' from
your respective high school. More to follow.
Do not FORGET the Texas A&M Hispanic Network / TAMU
Summit September 13-14. If you donate before the
Summit you pay only $35. at the Summit $50.00. Again,
this year, more than last, it is imperative that the
Network have MAXIMUM participation. Please make time
to join us. David Reta and Vangie Flores will get us
information on hotel reservations at a later date.
Also, you can go to our TAMHN web page to obtain more
info and obtain a registration form.
Finally, Leonard requested I remind you that we
will vote on next years TAMHN State officers. We are
now receiving nominees, so if you have one or two
please email Leonard. More info is on the web.
Next monthly mtg is Sept. 07. 7am at Freddy's
resturant on S. Flores. We used to meet here before
the current PSC opened. Please make plans to join us.
