Background
The Texas A&M Hispanic Network
was started in Spring 2003 to
address how former students of
Texas A&M University of Hispanic
background can assist President
Gates and the University in achieving
the Vision 2020 goals relating
to diversity of the student body,
faculty, and staff.
On April 22, 2004, at the TAMHN
Summit, the Bylaws
were unanimously adopted at the

Officers
Committee Chairs
Executive Committee- David Flores ‘96
The Executive Committee (EC) shall
consist of the elected officers
of the Network, the chairs of
all standing and ad-hoc committees,
and the immediate past Chair (ex
officio). The committee will conduct
business of the Network and prepare
the agenda for general meetings;
ratify appointments of committee
chairs made by the Chair; review
and approve the annual budget;
and may propose to the general
membership changes or additions
to the bylaws of the organization.
Governance and Organization- Daniel
Hernandez and Richard Torres
The committee shall prepare the
bylaws for the network. Also, the committee is responsible for
the organization of the regional
network that will facilitate de-centralized
execution of the goals of the
network in the local communities.
Operations and Outreach- Omar Cavazos and Rene Enriquez
This committee shall examine all
the specific programs and policies
developed by the administration
at Texas A&M University that
will impact the recruitment, admissions,
enrollment, and retention of Hispanic
students, to include financial
aid, and how those programs will
be implemented.
Network and Communications- Andres Perez and Joel Solis ‘01
The purpose of this committee
is to build and maintain a database
of former TAMU Hispanic students.
The committee will also develop
a TAMHN Web-site. The committee
may prepare and distribute information
such as periodic newsletters,
fliers, calendar items,etc. as
the needs of the organization
may dictate.
Finance and Capital Campaign- Jesse Garza
The committee shall submit an
annual budget to the Executive
Committee (EC) for approval. The
committee will identify and pursue
potential funding sources for
Network activities and operations.
The committee will seek ways to
assure every TAMHN member contributes
financially to our university.

Promoting Hispanic Diversity
The mission of the Texas A&M Hispanic Network is to serve as an advocate and support group on Hispanic concerns and issues at the University and local communities within the larger Association of Former Students organization. The Texas A&M Hispanic Network shall dynamically work towards increasing the number of Hispanic students attending Texas A&M University (TAMU), and enhancing their experience, education, and quality of life on campus.
